We were delighted that Brad Pitt chose to visit Pool House for a little R&R after filming in Glasgow. It was a real treat for staff and guests alike.

He was most impressed by the scenery in Wester Ross and although the weather could have been a little kinder, he said he would like to return again.
We would like to thank him for the lovely comments he wrote in our guest book.

Pool House is delighted to have been chosen as one of the 15 best British romantic retreats and the only Scottish inclusion, as featured on MSN by Mr & Mrs Smith as their "Highland Fling"!

Style: Eccentric, dramatic and homely
Setting: Loch on the wild side

Set on the shores of the west coast of Scotland's Loch Ewe, Pool House is the sort of remote retreat where you can spot an otter at breakfast and swoon over technicolour sunsets during supper. Each of the suites has views over the crystal-clear water and is individually furnished with extraordinary Victorian canopied baths and four-poster beds. The 300-year-old property was restored over two decades with reclaimed materials, and is bursting with personality as a result. For extra seclusion, wrap up warm and take a boat trip on Loch Maree. There'll definitely be a dram of whisky waiting on your return.
